As I look out, over this magnificent vista…

Hello all

We haven’t had any new snow here, the last of it fell on Sunday and we haven’t had any since. I know a lot of the country got loads more on Thursday night, but I’m quite glad we didn’t. I love the snow, but it gets a bit inconvenient, especially when you have plans and it messes them up! Anyway, last Sunday, when we had the worst of it, I went on a lovely walk with my sister and took a few photos, and I thought I’d share them!

Me, with the rosy cheeks you can only achieve from a brisk, cold walk!

Project 366 – Week 6

Hello all

For some reason I only included six photographs in last week’s round-up! Which is ridiculous, because I had taken last Sunday’s photo mere hours before I wrote the blog post, and somehow I forgot to include it! Anyway, this week’s edition will be a bumper one, and include eight photographs!

~ Day 29 ~

This is the photo that should have gone into last week’s round-up, but didn’t! It’s my friend Richard, at the pub in Burnham, where we went for a couple of cokes last Sunday night.

~ Day 30 ~

Because I do such an awful lot of reading/borrowing books from the library, they always present themselves for photos when I can’t think of anything else! These are two books that I have borrowed in order to knit a blanket. I’m making very slow progress at the minute though!

~ Day 31 ~

Another phone photograph, sorry! I went to my friends’ house the other day, and they got a fire going, because it was so chilly! Lovely fire, not such a great photograph.

~ Day 32 ~

Cravendale have been giving away Muppets Stickers for the past few weeks, they are supposed to go on your bottles of milk, but I won’t be wasting them in such a manner! I am just waiting for Gonzo now. It’s a shame there was no Rowlf, as he’s my favourite Muppet.

~ Day 33 ~

A photograph of my ginger sisters on the train on the way home from London; we had been to see a recording of The Cube, and it was super exciting and lots of fun. This photograph is their reaction to Sarah finding a photograph of a giant Walnut Whip on her phone. It may not seem it from her facial expression, but she was very excited.

~ Day 34 ~

I am attempting to read all of Shakespeare’s comedies for my 30 Before 30 list, and I’ve decided that the best way to do so is to enlist the help of some study guides. So I went to the library and got the York Notes on The Taming of the Shrew, and I’m reading the play in conjunction with it. It may not seem like fun to everyone, but I assure you, I love it.

~ Day 35 ~

Yesterday I spent the evening with my friends Anna, Jenny and John, and we watched DVDs, ate John’s fabulous lasagne, and drank wine. It was a lovely evening, all told.

~ Day 36 ~

This morning we woke up to probably about 6” of snow. (If you are local to me, and you think that’s wrong, let me know. I’m kind of making it up.) Anna and I had to help push Rob’s car to get it moving, and I’m very proud to say that we achieved it, and all without the help of Jenny, who would normally be the go-to gal for that kind of thing. Then, this afternoon, I went for a winter walk with my sister, and took quite a few photographs, including this one. Walking in deep snow is brilliant, and, I’m sure, quite a fabulous work out for your thighs. I hope it sticks around for a while.

Well I have to say that I am slightly more pleased with this week’s photographs than I have been previously. They can, however, get much better, so I hope they will be in coming weeks.

Until next time,

Project 366 – Week 5

Hello all

I am going to have to apologise again. My week in photos is less than inspiring. I was tempted not to even post them, they are that boring, but I want to carry on with it and I don’t want random weeks missing. So I am posting the photos, but feel free to look away now, because they just aren’t terribly interesting!

~ Day 23 ~

This one was taken on my phone. I know I said that I wouldn’t be taking them on my phone again, because the quality is awful, but I really had no choice. Actually I did, but this is actually a bit of a cheat, because it wasn’t actually meant to be the Project 366 photograph, it was just one that I took to send to my friend Anna to show her that I had finished a square of knitting for my blanket. And then I realised that I hadn’t taken a photo for Monday, and so this one had to do! If you look closely, you can see I went wrong. Just a bit. So don’t look too closely, please.

~ Day 24 ~

We have a new freezer, and somehow, this one was lurking on top of or behind the old one. I don’t know how, because the old freezer is not as old as this piece of paper, which is probably pushing 23 years. I distinctly remember this school trip to a railway museum nearby, and I remember having to find out about Demelza, one of the engines. What I am most impressed about is how good my handwriting was, because I was no more than about six when I wrote this, and I think it’s rather neat.

~ Day 25 ~

Chilli Con Carne that I made for dinner. I think this is probably one of my favourite meals. I just love it. And my one doesn’t taste too shabby, I don’t think.

~ Day 26~

The delicious foot cream that my sister bought me for Christmas. It smells so yummy, and I’ve been slathering it on, and then putting on…

~ Day 27 ~

… my lovely bed socks! They are so soft and cosy, and whilst they might not look particularly sexy, they keep my feet warm and they are part of the ongoing project to make my feet look lovely! So there!

~ Day 28 ~

I apologise for the inconvenient flash on this photograph; I would have taken it again but my battery ran out (as it always seems to do), and I couldn’t. I wanted to use this one because it’s a photo of a game I spent a while playing yesterday evening; Winning Lines. You may remember that there was a National Lottery programme from a few years ago, presented by Phillip Schofield of the same name. This is the game of that show and it’s so much fun! It’s kind of hard to explain if you haven’t seen it, but basically you have this in front of you, and you are asked a series of questions to which one of these words is always the answer. You have to answer the question by giving the answer and the number, so it’s no good if you know that Paul Gascgoigne played for Lazio, you also have to find it on the board and say the number too. I just love playing it, and Anna and I have become quite masterful at it. The machine also plays the winning lines music, and start to get quite scary when your time is almost over!

Like I said, that wasn’t the most fun bunch of photos (again), but I promise to try harder next week! Until next time!

Project 366 – Week 4

Hello all

I can’t believe it’s Week 4  of Project 366 already! The year is going to fly by again, isn’t it? I am hoping to be back this week with some other blog posts; sorry for the radio silence but I have had various different things that were determined to stop me in my pursuit of blogging this week! As for this week’s photos, I have to say, that I lacked inspiration on most of the days this week! So most of the photos are quite uninteresting, but I intend to head a bit further afield than my house to take some this coming week!

~ Day 16 ~

Anyone that follows me on Twitter will be aware that I’ve spent a lot of time in the past couple of weeks watching Dawson’s Creek. The great rewatch is very much underway, and I’ve reached halfway! Season three is just about my favourite, and I’ve just finished it. I’m also still getting through ER (up to season ten of fifteen), and I’ve just started another great rewatch: The West Wing.

~ Day 17 ~

I told you I’ve been uninspired this week, didn’t I? This was one of those “Oh crap, it’s almost bedtime and I haven’t taken a photo” moments, so I snapped my cup of tea. I don’t want my Project 366 to become a chore like that, so I’ve got to up my game!

~ Day 18 ~

I had fully intended to take a photo at the cinema, of either my friends or the cinema itself, or of something that indicated that I had been to see a film. But I forgot, so I had to settle for a photograph of the ticket! Warhorse was very good, by the way, I’d definitely recommend it.

~Day 19 ~

I got this notebook for my birthday, and I love it, but I have a real problem with notebooks. It’s not just that I have an addiction, it’s that once I have all these new notebooks, I don’t want to start writing in them until I know exactly what I want to use them for. And when it’s a really nice notebook, like this one (it’s a Moleskin), I am so reluctant to start it! But I know that I want to use this to start trying to write my novel. I have a good basic idea, I just need to sit and start writing!

~ Day 20 ~

I spent Friday night sorting out my bedroom, because it’s been such a mess lately. I got to going through some of the books on one of my bookshelves (not a priority, but more fun than hoovering), and I counted up all the novels that I have on there that I haven’t read. It came to 58; possibly not that many compared to others, but still quite a lot. Anyway, so I thought I would take a photo of some of the books that are on there.

~ Day 21 ~

This is how un-vain I am. This is a horrible photograph of me, and  I’m putting it on here regardless. To be fair to me, I don’t usually look this awful. It was taken at 3.45am, after Anna and I had been babysitting for my nieces. We got home at about midnight, and proceeded to spend the next four and a half hours chatting. Quite ridiculous. Anyway, that’s that. A horrible photo of me!

~ Day 22 ~

This is one of the nieces that I babysat for last night (and the only one who actually required any attention, as the other two were asleep before I got there and remained that way). My brother and sister-in-law brought their children for lunch today, and we had a lovely day in which I tried to teach my eight-year-old nephew to knit, and got to play with my nieces. I also got lots of cuddles with this little lady. What a delight.

I hope you’re enjoying my Project 366, if you’re joining in too, don’t forget to let me know! Until next time
