I gave myself a challenge a year or so ago, listing all the longlisted, shortlisted and winning novels in major book awards. I have read many of them now, know that there are even more in the library and have bought several from charity bookshops for my travels when I like to swap books. Doing this has meant that I read books which others have considered worthy of consideration but have now started drifting off again into other novels which haven’t been listed. I log my reads on Goodreads (otherwise I might forget what I have read).
