A Photo an Hour #2 ~ July 2013

I always love seeing people’s Photo an Hour posts, so it’s nice to be able to do my own from time to time! I have to set alarms on my phone to remind myself to actually take the photos, otherwise it gets to the end of the day and I realise that I’ve taken about three!

I took these photos at the end of July, a day which happened to be Flower Show day in my little village. It also happened to be a day on which my brother and sister-in-law (to be) came for the day (they were here the last time I did Photo an Hour too!), and they brought Freddy, their five-day old baby with them! It was tempting to take a photo of Freddy every hour, but I managed to resist that urge!

10AM ~ Waking up. Excuse my horrible feet – I clearly needed to redo my toenails!

11AM ~ After about an hour in bed playing on my phone (pretty standard these days), I had breakfast whilst watching Saturday Kitchen. I actually don’t really like Saturday Kitchen, but it’ll do while I’m eating my Weetabix.

12PM ~ It was a pretty slow start for me on this particular Saturday; I had a bath at midday.

1PM ~ Still waiting for my dad to bring Michael, Bex and Freddie home, so I had a cup of tea and a read through Twitter.

2PM ~ Lunchtime! Saturday lunches are always pretty great because my dad goes shopping on a Saturday morning.

3PM ~ Flower Show time! It’s the first time in a few years since I have been, and it’s nothing particularly special, but I think it’s important to support local events, otherwise they’ll disappear.

4PM ~ Owls aren’t my cup of tea. But they were there, so I took a photo of them. For a small donation, you could hold one on your shoulder. Suffice to say, I didn’t take them up on that.

5PM ~ OK, so I couldn’t resist one photo of the little man. Look at his lovely little face!

6PM ~ Michael and Bex went to visit her auntie, so I settled down to watch a spot of television. I expect it was nonsense, because Saturday night television in the summer is always nonsense. (I’m currently on a Strictly countdown. By my reckoning we’re looking at about six weeks until the launch show.)

7PM ~ It’s a bit of a topsy turvy day; reading my book at this time on a Saturday night isn’t standard for me. But I was in the middle of Matched, and it was getting quite (a bit) exciting, so I was eager to get on with it.

8PM ~ A bit of a late dinner, and I forgot to take a photo of it before I started eating, so you have this nice shot instead. Pizza and wedges.

9PM ~ Everyone goes out and leaves me to my own devices, so it’s time for a spot of blogging. Don’t say I don’t know how to live on a Saturday night!

So that was my day! Have you ever done a Photo an Hour post? I’d love to see them!

Everyone says this, that they never get round to doing it! I’m thinking about doing a post, picking a day, and encouraging everyone to get involved!

i definitely need to attempt one of these. i love seeing/reading other peoples posts like this, but i think i’d forget to take photos too unless i set an alarm. i also think it would be best if i did it on a weekend or holiday because a photo every hour at work would be so boring. :’)

the flower show looks fun. and i love your notepad!

The flower show is fun, nothing fancy but it’s nice to support the local events!

I keep meaning to do one of these posts but never manage to take photos for an entire day. Think I will definitely do the ‘setting an alarm’ thing, but will need to find a day that doesn’t go like this: Wake up, go to work, go home, go to bed. Dull!!

I know, I have to wait for a day when I know I’ll be doing something fun before I attempt it!
