A Nip and a Tuck

I feel like things have got away from me a little bit on the blog lately, and the best way for me to deal with that is to write a general housekeeping post to get things in order. I’ve noticed a few other bloggers doing a similar sort of thing so maybe there’s something in the air!

I don’t want to be the type of blogger who has every single post planned out weeks in advance (not that there’s anything wrong with that), because I like things to be a bit more spontaneous. But I do have a blog notebook that I wouldn’t be without because it has lists of ideas and to-do lists that really help. So there are a few posts that are on my to-do list, though for various reasons they haven’t been written yet!

It’s almost March, so I’ll be writing my usual month-end posts soon, and I have a couple of review posts coming up too. I’m still playing catch up with my film posts, and there are a few outings that I need to blog about too.

You may have noticed too that I had a bit of a change with the blog layout. I think it’s nice to have a change from time to time; I am constrained by the fact that my blog is not self-hosted, so it took me a while but I got there in the end. It’s not exactly what I want, and there are a couple of issues (like the fact that links are not highlighted to stand out from the main text), but I think it’s here to stay for now.

Today I also added some new social media buttons to the sidebar (thanks to Terri-Jane for pointing me in the direction of the fabulous Carrie Loves!). One of the best things about blogging is getting to know the people who are reading my posts, so please feel free to get in contact with me! Comments on my posts make me smile, but there are plenty of other ways to get in contact.

Is That You Darling does have a Facebook page, but at the moment it’s a bit of a work in progress. I don’t want it just to be a place where I advertise my blog, but I need to put a bit more time into it! I’d love it if you would join me over there to see what happens!

I’ve always been a big fan of Twitter, and I chat to a lot of other bloggers on there. So if you are a tweeter, please feel free to come and say hello!

As you can see from my buttons, I am also on Tumblr, Hello Cotton, Blog Lovin’, Instagram and Pinterest. I’m more active on some networks than others, but it’s always nice to connect with others on them.

So that’s that, really. Like I said, a quick housekeeping post on what’s going on around here. I do have another post planned soon in which I want to talk about what blogging means to me and how things have changed, so keep an eye out for it!

When it comes to blog planning, some weeks are easier than others for me. I, too, keep an ongoing list of projects I want to start, post ideas and the like. I try not to let it rule when/how I write though – sometimes that is a challenge as I *love* checking things off a list. I love the new layout! Simple and clean with a pop of color – perfect! 🙂

Checking things off a list is the nicest feeling isn’t it?! I love making a to-do list just for the fun of ticking things off!

I don’t really plan my posts – I tend to just write as and when something happens. I have been writing some of my German towns posts in advance though, purely to keep on top of them.

Sometimes I’ll plan to write one blog post, then something will come up to make me write about something else entirely. Take day for example. I WAS going to start my “things I have done…” series – until my boyfriend went and got appendicitis!
